Production at MDC Power is based on state-of-the-art ecological methods. The plant produces very energy efficient and goes easy on resources. Therefore it contributes to the protection of environment and climate. The stringent quality management guarantees the compliance of environmental laws and regulations.

Active environmental protection is anchored in all productive processes. The cutting fluid for example is worked up and reused continuously. During the hot test a 3-way catalyst prevents the emission of carbons and benzenes. The energy, which is produced in the hot test, is fed into the plants mains. The thermotechnical supply at MDC Power is provided by a heating station which exclusively works with renewable resources (wood chips).

The plant is regularly certificated according to DIN EN 14001 and it successfully underwent the federal emission control approval procedure (Bundesimmissionsschutz Genehmigungsverfahren). Innovative technical processes are employed for an environment-friendly production at MDC Power. Hence emissions (noise, noxious fumes, nuisance) are avoided widely. In addition MDC Power compensates the “consumption of nature” through the optimal design and planting of green areas.

MDC Power entered the agreement for sustainability Thuringia (NAT) in May 2006 and contributes to a sustainable and environment-friendly development of the business location Thuringia.
